Accreditation & Next Steps

What you will achieve as a result:

On successful completion of both tests, delegates receive the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card valid for two years. Within this period operators must complete an NVQ Level 2 in Plant Operations to convert to the Blue Competent Operator Card, which lasts five years and requires ongoing refresher training.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most commonly asked Forward Tipping Dumper CPCS A09 questions:

The standard course is delivered over two consecutive days, including theory training, practical exercises and both CPCS tests on the second day.

Delegates must be at least 18 years old, provide valid photo ID and hold a CITB Health, Safety and Environment test passed within the last two years.

Yes, the full CPCS A09 syllabus addresses both articulated and rigid machines, including their different handling characteristics and stability considerations.

Delegates must demonstrate pre-use checks, safe travelling on slopes, accurate loading and discharging, and correct shutdown procedures under assessor observation.

The Red Trained Operator Card is valid for two years. Operators must complete an NVQ to upgrade to the five-year Blue Competent Operator Card.
