Who Should Attend?

Who AttendsThe Novice/Foundation CPCS A17C Telescopic Handler course is designed for workers that have little or no site experience operating a telescopic handler, so require a full training course to assist them passing their CPCS theory and practical tests. Individuals with a reasonable amount of prior telescopic handler operation should attend the A17C Experienced Worker course instead. Very experienced workers that require no training can go straight to test only.

Joining Instructions

Pre-requisites and additional informationDelegates MUST have passed their CSCS Health, Safety, and Environment Test within the last 2 years (to the date of the actual CPCS tests). Delegates that arrive without having possessing a valid CSCS HSE pass will not be permitted to attend and will lose the full cost of the course.Please note that if you do not pass the CPCS Theory Test then you are not permitted to attempt the CPCS Practical Test. Additional fees apply if re-tests are required.

Course Agenda

The Telehandler CPCS A17 or NPORS N010 training course begins with a comprehensive introduction to the equipment, its purpose, and its uses. This includes an overview of the types of telehandlers, their components and controls, and the potential risks and safety precautions when operating them. The course then moves on to the practical aspects of operating a telehandler. This includes hands-on training in manoeuvring the equipment, loading and unloading, and safe handling techniques. Participants will also learn how to perform daily checks and basic maintenance on the machine to ensure its optimal performance and longevity. The course concludes with a rigorous assessment of the participant's knowledge and skills. This includes a written test on the theoretical aspects, as well as a practical demonstration of their ability to operate a telehandler safely and effectively..

Accreditation

Upon successful completion and passing of the Telehandler CPCS A17 or NPORS N010 (Telehandler) training course, candidates will receive an industry-recognised certification. This certification is either a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (for CPCS A17) or an NPORS Operator Card (for NPORS N010). These accreditations are highly regarded in the construction industry and are proof of the holder's competence and safety awareness in operating a Telehandler.
