Course Information

This course is for people with limited or no experience who want to learn how to operate a telescopic handler. Successful delegates gain the CPCS trained operator card (red card) on passing the CPCS technical tests at the end. Experienced telehandler operators who need a formal qualification can do a condensed 3 day course.

Course Agenda

The Telehandler CPCS A17 or NPORS N010 training course begins with a comprehensive introduction to the equipment, its purpose, and its uses. This includes an overview of the types of telehandlers, their components and controls, and the potential risks and safety precautions when operating them. The course then moves on to the practical aspects of operating a telehandler. This includes hands-on training in manoeuvring the equipment, loading and unloading, and safe handling techniques. Participants will also learn how to perform daily checks and basic maintenance on the machine to ensure its optimal performance and longevity. The course concludes with a rigorous assessment of the participant's knowledge and skills. This includes a written test on the theoretical aspects, as well as a practical demonstration of their ability to operate a telehandler safely and effectively..

Training Venue

Welcome to The Training Centre in Bathgate! Nestled in the scenic West Lothian, this venue is easily accessible from various routes. If youre travelling on the M8 from the East, exit at Junction 4 and take the third exit at the roundabout onto the A801. After a short drive, youll find The Training Centre on your left. Coming from the West Exit at Junction 5, turn left at the T-junction, and follow the signs to Armadale. For those on the M9, exit at Junction 4 and follow the A801. Refreshments, including water, tea, and coffee, will be available throughout the day, along with a light lunch. We look forward to welcoming you!. Accreditation

Upon successful completion and passing of the Telehandler CPCS A17 or NPORS N010 (Telehandler) training course, candidates will receive an industry-recognised certification. This certification is either a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (for CPCS A17) or an NPORS Operator Card (for NPORS N010). These accreditations are highly regarded in the construction industry and are proof of the holder's competence and safety awareness in operating a Telehandler. The CPCS and NPORS are both authoritative bodies in the UK, setting standards for plant operators. Their certifications are widely accepted across the UK and even internationally..
