You will learn how to comply with legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice and industrial requirements. On successful completion of the CPCS Technical tests you will receive the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card....

Who Should Attend?

Entry requirements This course is suitable for supervisors and managers with responsibility for supervising lifting operations. You should have sufficient experience of cranes to meet the requirements specified in British standard 7121 Safe Use of Cranes. Crane supervisor is a highly responsible role and only suitable personnel will be selected When you book the course, you will be asked to complete a self-profiling form to help you determine your level of knowledge. You must have passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment test for supervisors within the last two years. Good understanding of spoken and written English. Course Agenda

Course Content Explain the duties and responsibilities of: an Appointed Person, a Crane Supervisor, a Crane Operator, a Slinger Signaller, a Crane Erector and maintenance personnel State basic requirements of legislation, regulations, and codes of practice that relate to all types of lifting duties Explain additional requirements for loads to be lifted from height Explain maintenance, inspections, thorough examination and testing requirements for lifting equipment and accessories State requirements that allow safe site access and egress for typical lifting equipment Describe setting up, erection, levelling and dismantling requirements for different types of lifting equipment and lifts Explain the function and use off, and use information provided by RCIs and anti-collision systems List different types of lifting accessories and explain typical applications Identify and explain relevant information relating to different types of lifting accessories i.e. markings, certificates.

Specific venue information; which includes the full address, directions to the venue, public transport links, parking, refreshments, nearby hotels and whether or not food is provided will be supplied to confirmed bookings prior to the start of the course. CPCS A62 Crane/Lifting Operations Supervisor- NOVICE training is also available at training centres UK wide and on client premises (as required) provided minimum delegate numbers are achieved.

Accreditation

Candidates who successfully complete the Crane Supervisor Lifting Operations CPCS A62 or NPORS N405 training course will receive a Red CPCS Crane Supervisor card, which is valid for 2 years. This card serves as proof of their competence in crane supervision and lifting operations. ##$$##In order to maintain their accreditation, candidates must complete an NVQ within the 2-year period. Upon completion of the NVQ, they will be eligible to receive a Blue CPCS card, which is valid for 5 years.
