Course Information

Course Aims To provide high quality training and testing in the safe and effective use of plant and machinery to enable the candidate to attain the CPCS Red Operator Card. This course is for people with limited or no experience of operating an A17 Telescopic Handler. It teaches you how to operate and maintain a Telescopic Handler safely....

Who Should Attend?

Entry requirements CITB Health, safety and environment test passed within two years before the course start date or CPCS test date. Good understanding of spoken and written English. Please contact us if you have any concerns in this area.

Joining Instructions

Each candidate must bring a form of photographic ID such as a Driving Licence or Passport in order to undertake either a Health, Safety & Environmental Test or CPCS Test. NO ID, NO TEST ! We respectfully request that Mobile phones are not used during training and should be turned off during all testing sessions. Work boots must not be worn in the classrooms or tea room, so it is advisable to bring an alternative pair of shoes. Candidates must sign in and out of the visitor’s book which can be found in the waiting area To participate in this course, the candidate is required to read, write, speak and understand English. For example, you should be able to read and understand a newspaper article and hold a conversation in English. If a candidate has any special needs or requirements, such as physical disability, dyslexia or literacy issues, then please contact M I Construction Training Ltd as soon as possible so we can do our best to assist them. Free tea and coffee will be available in the waiting area. Each Candidate should bring a relevant CITB Construction Skills Health Safety & Environment Test Pass Certification. The candidate must have passed the CITB Construction Industry Health Safety & Environmental Test within 2 years prior to the CPCS Test Date.

Course Agenda

Course Content Operate the machine for all normal tasks Decide whether a particular load is safe to lift Carry out routine servicing procedures and maintenance as necessary, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions Know how the machine works and the maintenance requirements involved Understand the effect of load, size, weight, gradients and ground conditions upon machine stability Travel over rough, undulating ground, steep inclines and level surfaces – loaded and unloaded. Manoeuvre in confined spaces (with and without loads). Configure and set for lifting and transferring duties. Explain actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services. Lift and remove various loads up to full extension and working height of the telescopic handler. Transfer and place loads accurately at given locations. Place and remove loads from a vehicle. Know how to load, store and transport representative materials Understand the basic const.

Training Venue

Specific venue information; which includes the full address, directions to the venue, public transport links, parking, refreshments, nearby hotels and whether or not food is provided will be supplied to confirmed bookings prior to the start of the course. CPCS A17C Telescopic Handler - All Sizes Exc. 360 Slew training is also available at training centres UK wide and on client premises (as required) provided minimum delegate numbers are achieved.

Accreditation

Upon successful completion and passing of the Telehandler CPCS A17 or NPORS N010 (Telehandler) training course, candidates will receive an industry-recognised certification. This certification is either a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (for CPCS A17) or an NPORS Operator Card (for NPORS N010). These accreditations are highly regarded in the construction industry and are proof of the holder's competence and safety awareness in operating a Telehandler.
