Who Should Attend?

All personnel who require to operate a counterbalance forklift. This course is for delegates who have significant prior experience of operating forklift trucks but have not had formal training or certification.

Joining Instructions

Note: Must be experienced user, if candidates have no previous experience they will not be accepted on the course and a full charge will be applied. Registration Time: 08:15am for 08.30am Start. Please note our office does not open until 8am. Duration: 2 Days. Equipment Required: Safety Footwear. Lunch: Provided by Evolve unless at a customers premises. Please advise of any dietary requirements 24hrs in advance. Accredited forklift training now requires all candidates to be registered with a governing body. This is required for companies whose forklift operators work on their own and clients sites and require a national certificate. Evolve Training will register all our candidates with ITSSAR under the TOPS (Trained Operator Passport Scheme). ITSSAR TOPS Registration costs 10.00 plus VAT per candidate and this included in the price of the training. For the purpose of registering the candidates we will require; Date of birth National Insurance Number Candidates must also bring suitable identification to the training. A digital photograph will be taken of candidates to use on the cards which will be issued by the accrediting body on completion of the training. Extra Information: Delegates should be aware that this course contains a large element of practical work using live equipment. If any delegates have special requirements e.g. wheelchair access, reading or writing difficulty, please let us know in order for us to provide an appropriate classroom or arrange assistance for written exercises. Course Agenda

The Counterbalance Forklift training course is designed to equip operators with the skills and knowledge necessary to safely and efficiently operate a forklift. The course covers a range of topics including the responsibility of the operator, basic hydraulic and electrical systems, and refueling/recharging procedures. Daily safety checks and maintenance, as well as site safety protocols, are also covered.

Operators will learn how to maneuver the forklift in both simple and advanced scenarios, including stacking and de-stacking in both free and racking situations. Risk assessment is also a key component of the course, ensuring operators are able to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

The course includes practical and knowledge examinations, allowing operators to demonstrate their understanding of the material and their ability to safely operate the forklift. This comprehensive training will not only improve the skills of operators, but also contribute to a safer and more efficient workplace.
